Norman M. Kimmel

	Norman M. Kimmel, 86, of Plant City, Fla., formerly of DuQuoin and Elkville, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at the Brooksville Regional Hospital in Brooksville, Fla.
	Norman was a retired coal miner.  he had worked at the Old Kathleen and New Kathleen mines.  He was of the Catholic faith.
	He was born August 15, 1914 at Elkville, the son of Leslie L. and Mary Ellen (Bennett) Kimmel.  He married Lavena A. Benson on May 16, 1934 at Jonesboro.  She passed away April 13, 1998.
	He is survived by a son- Donald Kimmel of Brooksville, Fla.; a sister- Virginia Duffy of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother.
	Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 3 at the Elkville Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.
	Friends called from 12 noon until time of service Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	Interment was in Elkville Cemetery.
